Objective of project:

Mystical Danube project will address several challenges and needs in the Danube Region related to the valorisation of natural and intangible cultural heritage as tourism asset and their contribution to regional economic development and social inclusion.

The main project objective is to develop a coordinated joint transnational approach in the valorisation of natural and intangible cultural heritage as a tourism asset in rural and less visited areas in the DRP area.

Strategy for valorization of natural and intangible cultural heritage in rural, less visited areas.

Specific objective 2
Capacity building of local community stakeholders in the Danube region for the new thematic route

Specific objective 3
Promotion of the Green and Mystical Danube Storytelling Route as a new thematic route in the Dunube region

Results of project:

  • 10 Action Plans for sustainable community tourism services and products for 10 pilot locations in 9 countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia and Serbia;
  • On the territory of Montenegro, during the project, a pilot site will be built in the Komovi Nature Park, in the immediate vicinity of the Bukumirsko Lake;
  • To train and connect local community stakeholders in rural, less visited areas in order to develop new tourist services and products that will be developed through the project;
  • A special Green and Mystical Danube Storytelling Route application will be developed, which will contain all information about tourist services and products.
